Amazon-owned Quidsi has come up with another purpose built online store for parents, this time promising them a one-stop-shop for all of their toy needs. Dubbed YoYo, at yoyo.com, it launches with 20,000 toys, video games, books and things of that nature.

Quidsi is the company behind sites such as Diapers.com, an online store aimed at parents of young children, Soap.com, for health and beauty products, and Wag.com for pet supplies.

It's been quite good at what it does so much so that Amazon was forced to acquire the company, after putting some pricing pressure on it since Amazon carried some of the same items as Diapers.com, for example.

Quidsi remained independent though and has continued to expand, launching its pet supply store earlier this year. Now it's branching out into toys with YoYo.

"We've heard again and again that toy shopping can be totally overwhelming, which is why we wanted to create a toy destination that makes the experience as simple and efficient as possible, and hopefully even a little fun," Marc Lore, CEO of Quidsi, said.

"YoYo.com helps every type of gift giver find the perfect toy, whether it's parents who know exactly what they're looking for, or those who need a little guidance and some handpicked recommendations along the way," he added.

The site boasts a wide selection of toys, but it uses several ways of making sure that parents aren't overwhelmed with the choice. It uses personalized recommendations as well as simple guided toy finder tools to help parents find the perfect toy.

The site promises free 1 or 2 day shipping on purchases above $49, 37.7 Euro, free shipping being a trademark of Quidsi sites. In fact, all four sites will have a common shopping cart and for items from two or more sites, free shipping starts at $39, 28.4 Euro.
