Amazon's latest star e-reader is the Kindle Paperwhite, but the Kindle Touch is still an important player, which is why Amazon updated it right at the start of the year.

The company has prepared a new user interface (UI), added better parental controls and even tossed in better comic book and graphic novel navigation options, like panel by panel view.

To get the update, users will need to be in the range of a Wi-Fi router. USB can be used as well though.

Once the download and installation have completed, the Kindle Touch will even have Whispersync for Voice technology, which shares bookmarks between audio and text versions of the same digital book.

The Amazon “What's New with Kindle Touch?” page has all the details, such as the new name of the Archived Items page (Cloud) and some other new features.
