Amazon knows that any e-book reader in search of a buyer has to fight off the ten or twenty media tablets that are placed right next to it on the store shelf.

Thus for this reason and in the light of the new Kindle Paperwhite launch, the company has dramatically slashed the price of the classic Kindle.

It is still not clear if any specifications of the classic Kindle have been upgraded or even if a software update has been implemented, but one thing is clear and that is that Amazon has reportedly priced Kindle at just $69 (54 EUR).

As all the company’s readers, this one also comes with WiFi.

The screen is the well-known E-Ink Perl sporting the 600 by 800 pixel resolution and the memory is the same 2 GB while the user input is handled by a 5-way joystick.
