Amazon's Kindle Paperwhite e-book reader, the newest such device from the company, has finally started reaching those who placed orders at the start of September.

Owners will be able to enjoy a screen with 62% more pixels, a 25% higher contrast, a front light and a bunch of gimmicks.

We described the device in detail back when it was unleashed, and we did not exactly enjoy hearing that there were high odds of sales being impaired by shortages.

You'll find the device priced at $119 in the United States, but won't be available internationally until 2013.

“Kindle Paperwhite is the most advanced e-reader ever created and the Kindle we always wanted to build,” said Jay Marine, vice president, Amazon Kindle. “Pre-orders have far exceeded our expectations and we’re excited to start shipping Kindle Paperwhite to customers today.”
