Arrived a few minutes after Amazon made public the source code for the Fire

With the Kindle Fire out and about it was just a matter of time until someone managed to find a way to root this tablet and reveal its Android internals, but I don't think that anyone expected for this to happen so soon after Amazon made public the source code for its device.

It virtually only took a couple of minutes for this root hack to arrive courtesy of the Phandroid forums and a user called death2all11o.

Playing around with the different one click root apps he had on its Kindle Fire, the users managed to find one application that actually works, the SuperOneClick 2.2.

The root procedure is rather simple, but it requires ADB to work on the Amazon tablet, which actually takes you through a few steps before rooting the device.

The good news is that all of these steps are detailed in the post announcing the successful root, so these shouldn't be that difficult to follow.

With root achieved and the source code released, the Kindle Fire is definitely a great stocking stuffer for all you Android geeks out there.
