Like any new device, the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX is not immune to bugs

The new Amazon Kindle Fire HDX has received a bunch of pretty spectacular reviews, but now some users have noticed a slightly annoying problem with its display.

You might not be affected, but a number of HDX owners are complaining on the Amazon forum about an off-color fringe located around the edge of the screen.

According to reports, Amazon is aware of the issue and most willing to help. Dissatisfied customers can go ahead and ask for their device to be changed.

On the other hand, users asking for help via the MayDay button were told that the problem was actually an “optical issue” and not something related to hardware, so totally normal. But how does that reconcile with Amazon’s willingness to swap the affected devices? The mystery should be solved soon.
