The Amazon Kindle DX 9.7-inch eReader was a beast of a digital reading device. The product arrived with a 9.7-inch E Ink display, physical buttons for turning pages and a QWERTY keyboard positioned under the screen.

A few months ago, it was speculated Amazon had discontinued the device, as the eReader wasn't to be found anywhere. After all, Amazon stopped updating the device in terms of hardware since 2010.

But apparently we feared the worse for nothing, as the Amazon Kindle DX 9.7-inch has arrived back in stock at Amazon and is selling for a cheaper price than ever. So if you want a maxi eReader in your life, you should know you can pick one up for $199 / €147.

For those who don’t remember the more detailed specification, the eReader arrives with a 9.7-inch Pearl E-Ink screen boasting a resolution of 1200 x 824 pixels or 150 ppi. The device is capable of displaying 16 shades of gray and is compatible with a wide range of formats including AZW, MOBI, HTML, TXT, PDF or PRC files.

On top of that it can handle JPEG, PGN, GIF and BMP formats, as well as MP3 and Audible formats. Compared to modern Kindle devices, the Kindle DX comes equipped with built-in stereo speakers and 3.5mm stereo audio jack and even adds text-to-speech to the bundle.
