A new flavor of the Amazon Kindle application is now available for download for the owners of Windows Phone devices, one that also offers support for the Windows Phone 8 platform.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the app was designed to provide users with access to Amazon’s catalog of over a million eBooks straight from their devices.

Not only will Windows phone users be able to purchase Kindle books from the Kindle Store, but they will also be able to read them on their handsets, while enjoying syncing features across devices.

“Amazon Whispersync technology automatically syncs your eBooks across apps, so you can start reading a book on your Windows Phone 8, and pick up where you left off on another device with the Kindle app installed,” Amazon explains.

The new Amazon Kindle 2.0.0.1 app is available on this page in the Windows Phone Store.
