Amazon has just made available new firmware packages for some of its Kindle Fire devices, namely the 7.4.1, 8.4.1, and 10.4.1 that are developed for the Kindle Fire HD 7", HD 8.9", and 2nd Generation tablets, respectively.

The newly released packages add the Canadian English and French languages to the compatible devices’ settings menu, and enable the battery percentage feature, which basically lets you see the total amount of battery remaining at the top of the screen.

The installation process is similar to that used for the previous versions. First connect the Kindle tablet to the computer via a USB cable, and copy the downloadable file to the root folder of the device’s internal storage.

Check the transfer so that it is successful, disconnect the tablet through a safety remove feature, and go to More → Device → About → Update Your Kindle – at this point the Kindle will reboot and start the upgrade.

When the process finishes, the tablet will restart once more, and if you check the system version, you should be able to read the latest version for your device.

That being said, follow one of the links below depending on which Kindle you own, and download the file needed to update your device.
