Earlier this summer, Amazon took the wraps off its first smartphone, the Amazon Fire Phone, which has been released in the United States on the network of AT&T, and which is currently expected to arrive in the UK as well in the not too distant future.

The smartphone is headed to O2 UK at the end of this month, and it appears that the wireless carrier might have exclusivity on it.

As Engadget notes, the Amazon Fire Phone will be released at O2 on September 30, but users in the UK can already pre-order it today, it seems.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Amazon has packed the mobile phone with a set of front cameras that enable features such as 3D head-tracking and one-handed gesture controls. Moreover, the company offers on-device customer support through Mayday.

Moreover, the handset arrives on shelves with Firefly, an image and audio-based search engine designed to enable users to easily find products on Amazon, translate text, get info from business cards, and more.

The Amazon Fire phone will be released on O2's Refresh tariff starting at £33 per month. Thus, the 32GB variant of the handset will cost users £360 ($582/€450). Additionally, the phone is bundled with one free year of Prime membership, but only for a limited time.
