We’re used to seeing Amazon apply discounts on its line of Kindle Fire tablets, as the company is one of the tech giants that does so the most frequently.

And since the Kindle Fire is reportedly the official tablet of the NCAA, Amazon has taken the opportunity to slash off the prices of the devices a bit, to celebrate the NCAA March Madness tournament.

Both Kindle HD and newer HDX lines of tablets are included into the promotion. The 7- and 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX slates are now receiving discounts between $30 / €22 and $40 / €29 respectively.

So those of you grabbing the Kindle Fire HD today will be spending only $119 / €85 in doing so, while those opting for the newer HDX will be paying $199 / €144 for the 7-inch model and $339 / €246 for the 8.9-inch version.

Amazon’s strategy of always offering discounts at the right time has made the Kindle Fire family extremely popular among customers.

Although in Samsung’s recent GalaxyPRO tablet commercial, the tablets were accused of not being able to do anything more than just “books.”

The problem with the slates is that they run Amazon’s own Fire OS, so users don’t have access to the popular Google Play Store but to Amazon’s own. But apart from that, they are pretty good products.
