Good news for Indian tablet seekers. In anticipation of the next-gen Amazon Kindle Fire rolling out, prices for the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD have been axed considerably in India.

AdroidOS.in reports that interested customers can now get a 16GB Kindle HD at the price of Rs 11,999 / $192 / €142 while the 32GB version is available for Rs 15,999 / $255 / €189. Previously, shoppers would have had to play Rs 15,999 / $255 / €189 and Rs 18,999 / $303 / €225 respectively.

For those who need a refresh, the Kindle HD is a 7-inch HD slate featuring 1280 x 800p resolution. Power comes from a dual-core, 1.2GHz OMAP4460 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device also brings a front HD camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HDMI output. Access to diverse Amazon content is also provided.

Like it is priced at the moment, the Kindle Fire HD will most likely take heads on Google's Nexus 7 Wi-Fi which could have been purchased for Rs 11,999 / $192 / €142 from the start.
