1000 packages sold in under 1 minute

As I've reported a few days ago, Amazon was planning to put up for sale a US$ 100 Xbox 360. The entire gaming community was delighted to hear that, not to mention that all gamers were in a state of perpetual anxiousness.

You would expect everybody to rush to place their order to get that cheap Xbox 360, at least I would. But Amazon didn't seem to realize this, and did not take measures to prevent their servers from going down. And it did.

Just minutes before the 11:00 sale, because too many people logged on to order an Xbox 360 the website went down. What was there left to do? Refresh the damn page! Refresh as long as you like, but still you will get a Sold Out message as all the US$ 100 Xbox 360's were given away in a blink of an eye. There were only 1000 360 Core packs who will end up in the hands of those who were the quickest to refresh.

This 360 Core offer was meant as a holiday promotional offer, discounted from US$ 300 down to US$ 100. It was made up of a 20GB Xbox 360 and some other accessories.
