The new Kindle Fire HDX tablets probably contributed greatly to the success

As the tumultuous Black Friday and Cyber Monday have ended, it was to be expected that companies would come out declaring the period was a success.

And here arrives Amazon, claiming its Kindle family had the greatest Thanksgiving weekend ever, with sales hitting a three-year record. The only downside is, the company didn't mention exactly how many Kindle devices it sold.

Enshrouding sales figures in a veil of mystery is a well-known pattern for Amazon. Back in 2011, the company announced it had the “Best Black Friday Ever for Kindle Family” only to come back to that statement in 2012 and boast that “Worldwide Kindle Device Sale More Than Double Last Year’s Record Over Holiday Shopping Weekend.”

It seems like Amazon’s records in sales keep increasing year over year, but there’s no way to verify that at the moment. On top of that, the tech giant didn’t specify which Kindle device was the best seller. Was it the Kindle Fire HDX 7, the Kindle HD or the revamped Kindle Paperwhite?
