Last month, Amazon announced a slew of new devices including two new tablets, rebranded and bearing the “Fire” now, the new Kindle Voyage flagship eReader and a 2014 edition of the base Amazon Kindle Reader, now coming with a touchscreen display.

We already told you that, in the short time since it was announced, the Amazon Kindle Voyage proved to be super popular. Just a week since its launch, the new eReader was already backordered, but what about Amazon’s other new products?

You might be happy to hear Amazon’s new Fire HD 6 and HD 7 and the 2014 base Kindle (which sells for just $79 / €64) are currently shipping out to customers, as noted by Liliputing. The tablets have starting prices of $99 / €78.

Basic Kindle

Amazon revamped its most standard Kindle model adding a few extra options on top to make the product more appealing.

Basically, the 2014 Kindle is quite similar to the 2011 Kindle Touch Wi-Fi, but it now comes with a darker case and a touch screen display.

However, the retail giant saw it fit to remove the text-to-speech feat and MP3 playback features. But the new model can sustain a device life of up to 4 weeks and has 4GB of internal storage, which is more than enough for all your eBook collection.

The new eReader does not have a front-lit / high-resolution display, but at this price you shouldn’t expect it to. If you find that you can’t live without those features, you can always pick up the Kindle Paperwhite or Kindle Voyage, but it will cost you more.

Fire HD 6 and Fire HD 7

Amazon has lowered the prices for its tablet family and now they start at an affordable $99 / €78 (for the smaller model).

As for the 7-inch model, you can grab it for $139 / €110 and up. Both models are equipped with 1280 x 800 pixel displays, 1.5GHz quad-core processors, 8GB to 16GB of internal storage and two cameras.

Amazon says the tablets should be able to sustain up to 8 hours of run-time onboard. The difference between the two Fire tables is the screen size (naturally) but also the 7-inch features stereo speakers while the 6-inch one has mono speakers.

The good news is that the two tablets will run’s Amazon’s latest OS Sangria, which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat and brings a bunch of new feats to the table.

Happy shopping if you decide to jump with Amazon on this.
