The server-side JavaScript platform is becoming more popular

Amazon has announced early support for JavaScript via Node.js in its Web Services cloud. The new AWS SDK for Node.js is open for developers to test.

Several AWS products are supported at this time, S3, EC2, DynamoDB and the Simple Workflow Service and more will be included down the line.

Node.js is quickly going from hack, to cute experiment, to production ready software and gaining more and more converts along the way.

The idea of running JavaScript server side seemed ludicrous only a few years ago and, frankly, there was no need for it.

But with JavaScript being the most popular programming language in the world, better and better frameworks and with JavaScript engines becoming more powerful, things changed. Node.js came at the nick of time and it's getting more and more fans.
