The game seems to be running smoothly on Windows Phone 8 devices

It doesn’t come as a surprise that Windows Phone users have to wait several weeks before a game that’s been launched on Android and/or iOS makes its way onto the Windows Phone Store as well.

The same has happened with Gameloft’s Amazing Spider-Man 2, which was released on both Android and iOS platforms back in mid-April, but it has only made the jump on Windows Phone recently.

Like this wasn’t enough bad news for Windows Phone users, it appears that the game has issues with devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview. In fact, the issues definitely have something to do with the mobile platform and not the devices, as WPCentral reports.

It appears that the Amazing Spider-Man 2 game does not work too well on Windows Phone 8.1 smartphones. The game crashes, so you won’t be able to play it unless you reboot your device.

As long as you don’t use other application and then run the Amazing Spider-Man 2 on your Windows Phone 8.1 device, you should be fine.

However, switching between apps while the game is open will rarely work. More frequently, the game will not re-open if you decide to switch between apps, so it’s not recommended to do it if you want to play Amazing Spider-Man 2.

On the other hand, if you are rocking a Windows Phone 8.0 handset, you should not have any problems with the Amazing Spider-Man 2 game. It will run smoothly under any situation, so you will be able to switch between apps or play the game even after launching another app on the phone.

Although Gameloft claims that the game should work on Windows Phone 8.1 devices, it appears that Amazing Spider-Man 2 has real issues when it’s run on smartphones powered by the Developer Preview build.

Perhaps that game will be compatible with the final version of Windows Phone 8.1, though we doubt that the problem lies in the fact that Developer Preview may not contain all the software needed to run the Amazing Spider-Man 2 game.

On top of that, in order to be able to play it, you will have to come up with $4.99, but if you wish to play it on Windows Phone 8.1, you should take into consideration all the aspects we have described earlier.

As for the rest, you can now download Amazing Spider-Man 2 for Windows Phone for $4.99 via Windows Phone Store. The game is confirmed to be compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
