Mac App Store is the host of plenty of awesome software. In the Photography category, the race is tight, but Color Splash Studio seems to rise above competition by offering an easy way to achieve Photoshop-like results as far as selective colorization is concerned.

The feature set is pretty extensive, and includes tools to adjust monochrome and color layers, as well as support for high resolution images (32 megapixels) and RAW files.

Moreover, it makes available three monochrome layers: classic grayscale, vintage sepia and blue tone.

Adjustable parameters for color layer, such as brightness, contrast, blur, hue saturation or exposure, are also on the list of options.

As you can see from the video above, Color Splash Studio ($1.99 or €1.47) makes it easy to apply color layers, as a simple selection of the brush will suffice to start changing the hues.

Mac users can download the application from this address.
