Sustainable design is not only highlighting improvements when it comes to giant towers, homes and commercial buildings.

Small items, like birds houses are also open to innovation revealing a deep respect for the environment and a high dosage of creativity, Inhabitat informs.

The bird houses launched on the market are made by Peter Marigold in his UK studio, entirely out of waste materials. The interesting thing is that the designer uses salvaged shop signs to create his one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

All in all, the bird houses are colorful, earth-friendly and have supported a noble cause. They were initially designed for a charity auction entitled “The Birds, The Bats & The Bees,” organized three years ago.

Some of his most recent works of art also rely on materials coming from sustainable sources. Apparently he is keen on revolutionizing every item from our households, through unconventional pieces like the potato-based vegetable lamp or the fabulous handmade wardrobe.
