Rovio, the highly-acclaimed Finnish studio behind the popular Angry Birds franchise, has released its newest physics puzzle game for iPhone and iPad, Amazing Alex. The whiz kid is said to have quite an imagination and a houseful of props “that can turn anything into an adventure.”
In this $0.99 / €0.79 title, Alex creates chain reactions known as Rube Goldberg machines, to get a certain job done with the maximum amount of fun. “Now he has some challenges for you -- and he wants to see the most creative solutions YOU can create,” says Rovio.
This initial run of Amazing Alex features 100 levels (you can bet there will be lots of updates, just like with Angry Birds), 35 fully-interactive objects, and four locations to get you started.
You get to create your own levels and share them with anyone, and you can download and play other people’s levels yourself.
The game is “Retina optimized for resolutionary experience” (must mean iPad 3 Retina too) and, best of all, the developers say there’s more than one right answer to each puzzle, which should keep your eyes peeled to that screen for hours.
“Meet Amazing Alex! This whiz kid has a boundless imagination and a houseful of fun toys that can turn anything into an adventure!” said Rovio Entertainment Inc. “With 100 challenging levels across four fun-filled locations, there's a whole world of creations to explore!”
“From cleaning up his room to battling cardboard robots in his backyard, Alex creates amazing chain reactions to get the job done with the maximum amount of fun! Now he has some challenges for you -- and he wants to see the most creative solutions YOU can create,” according to the successful development studio based in Finland.
Amazing Alex is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 4.2 or later.
