Apple may have just rendered point-and-shooters obsolete

A picture taken with a brand new iPhone 4S unit reveals that Apple was not lying when it said people won’t believe the images shot through its lens come from a phone.

But it seems it’s all true, despite many arguing that the iPhone 4S marketing page showed edited pictures to boost the public’s confidence and go out to buy one. The image you see above was shot through the lens of an iPhone 4S.

You can see all the creases on that one dollar bill with all the subtitles that make it up (criss-crossed lines, etc), including foreign fibers in the paper. It really does seem that Apple’s iPhone 4S will rival dedicated point-and-shoot cameras.

Perhaps when yours arrives at the door, you can snap a quick one and send it over to Softpedia. I’ll gladly post an entry if it looks as awesome as this, or better.
