Seth MacFarlane is hard at work on the sequel to his box office hit comedy “Ted” starring a foul-mouthed, pot-smoking teddy bear and he has his eyes set on a new leafing lady.

Deadline confirms that the role of Mark Wahlberg's love interest, previously played by Mila Kunis, will go out to Amanda Seyfried. The actress is already familiar with collaborating with MacFarlane, after the two starred in his latest comedy “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” which is due out on May 30.

The work on the script is still taking place so there aren't any details available at this point, but word is that Mila Kunis will make a brief appearance in the sequel. Sources linked with the project stressed that Kunis' removal as the female lead was purely a creative decision.

She and MacFarlane remain close friends as she continues to offer her voice talents to the character of Meg Griffin, in MacFarlane's long-running animated series, “Family Guy.”

Before “Ted 2” will see the light of day, audiences can enjoy another Seth MacFarlane production, the comedy “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” which features the talents of Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried and Giovanni Ribisi.
