You must already be familiar by now with the fact that actress Amanda Bynes had a relapse and started acting bizarrely on the streets of New York City before she was ambushed by her parents and doctors and sent to a mental health institution where she still is today.

The trouble is that the involuntary psychiatric hold in Los Angeles is about to expire and her parents are left wondering what is going to happen next to their daughter, who clearly has some issues. Reports claim that the actress could be forced to spend the next year in the mental institution to receive special care, despite rumors that parents are seeking to gain another conservatorship.

Doctors want to gain control of the actress in order to administer medication by force

TMZ reports that Amanda's 14-day hold in the hospital might be prolonged for up to one year if the doctors treating her get their way. The hospital staff wants to obtain an LPS Hold, a type of conservatorship usually granted by a judge in cases where the patient is “gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder or impairment by chronic alcoholism.”

This special type of conservatorship would then allow doctors to keep her in the hospital and administer medication to her that will hopefully help her recover. If a judge would deem it necessary for the LPS Hold to be issued, it would give doctors more power than her parents had in their conservatorship, because they had been forbidden to force medication on her or to restrain her.

The doctors will ask for conservatorship once Amanda's diagnosis is complete

The doctors are expected to make the request for the LPS Hold once Amanda's diagnosis is complete. After that, it's believed that doctors will be successful in their request to control the troubled actress.

Bynes was seen acting erratically in New York City before she was tricked into meeting with her parents and some hospital staff by Sam Lutfi. She also said some really strange things, like that her parents had inserted a microchip in her brain to keep track of her, and that her father had molested her as a child, something she later retracted and put down as something the chip made her say.

Now, reports have emerged that the actress is struggling to cope with hospital confinement, “showing fits of anger,” according to medical staff. She also spoke out against her parents, claiming that she didn't want any contact with them anymore since they had “betrayed” her.
