Last week, Amanda Bynes was admitted for psychiatric evaluation after she started a fire in a woman’s driveway. While she’s still on involuntary hold, which has been extended from 72 hours to 2 weeks, one of her pals is talking to the tabs about what could have been at the root of all her problems.

Ana Rivera claims she became Amanda’s friend in November and parted ways with the former actress just recently after a big fight.

Bynes changed her phone number afterwards and they were never in contact again. Rivera is now selling her story to Radar Online and, in the process, revealing what she thinks is the cause of all her troubles.

According to the so-called pal, Amanda has a serious image problem and might even be suffering from body dysmorphia.

“She got her cheeks pierced and a few tattoos within a couple of weeks, it’s classic body dysmorphia. She was really obsessed with how she looks,” Ana says.

Admittedly, her problem could be traced back to her mother telling her that she looked her best when she was at her thinnest.

“She says her mother gave her stuff about her weight when she was growing up,” Rivera claims.

“She told me she wanted to be 100 pounds [45.3 kg]. When she was in the film Love Wrecked, she had just got mononucleosis and lost a load of weight, and her mum told her she’d never looked better,” she adds.

So, Amanda set her mind to getting back to that weight, even if that meant not taking proper care of herself.

Come to think of it, her obsession with being 100 pounds can also be verified on her Twitter feed, as she would often write about how much weight she’d lost and how much she still had to go until she attained her goal.

“She had weird eating habits. She’d only eat turkey bacon. But she would eat candy in secret and had a big stash of candy in a cupboard,” her so-called friend says.
