14 DAY TRIAL // Apart from getting busted by the police for apparently being high while driving, actress Amanda Bynes is also said to have flunked from her Fashion School courses that she was taking as part of her rehabilitation program. The bad news just keeps on piling for the young actress who seemed on her way to recovery.
At just 28 years old, Amanda has already retired from acting and has been through a rough patch that culminated with a public meltdown and her getting institutionalized for drug problems. Later, she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, but her mother insisted that she wasn't mentally ill, just addicted to marijuana.
Amanda went wild as soon as her mother's conservatorship ended
The woman took it upon herself to help cure her daughter, so, as soon as she was released from the hospital, the mother set a complex program that would see her daughter return back to normal. For a while, things seemed to be moving in the right direction.
Amanda was reported as staying away from drugs, being healthy and even enrolling in a Fashion School with hopes of becoming a fashion designer later down the line. Today, Radar is reporting that Amanda has since flunked out from the Fashion Institute Design & Merchandising, where she was studying to become a fashion designer.
Insiders claim that her addictions are to blame for her failure to finish the courses, because she started “smoking pot and drinking again.” The insider reveals how “Amanda just stopped going to classes. Everything had been going very well for her up until the conservatorship ended. Her instructors tried to reach out to Amanda, given her history of very public breakdowns, but got no response. As a result, Amanda flunked out.”
It turns out that Amanda's progress was due in large part to the fact that her mother had a conservatorship set up and she made sure that her daughter stayed clean and in school. As soon as the mother ended her conservatorship, Amanda was back to her old tricks again.
The parents were oblivious to their daughter's relapse
All that progress was lost the minute she moved out of her parents' house and struck out on her own again. “It's really sad, because Amanda had been doing so well,” adds the insider.
Before, she commuted from her parents' home in Ventura County to the Irvine campus for two hours a trip, but when the conservatorship ended, she moved into an apartment in Orange County and things started going downhill.
What's sad is that her parents were oblivious to her latest antics, since they didn't know about the arrest and the dropping out of school, and they had to find out from the press who came knocking at their door as soon as Amanda was arrested.
One of Amanda's friends claims that the former actress has stopped taking her psychiatric medications, “She is absolutely out of control, and having the conservatorship end is probably the worst thing in the world for her.”
