New report claims she's in a world of trouble but won't admit it

A couple of weeks ago, actress Amanda Bynes was busted for DUI after allegedly clipping a police car, in what was believed to be just one of the many instances she got drunk behind the wheel. She has serious issues but won't admit it, says a new report.

Late last week, word had it that Bynes' personal life started spiraling out of control sometime in 2008, when her acting career slumped and she found it harder and harder to stay relevant.

If we're to believe rumors in the tabs and the blogosphere, she could never reconcile with the idea that she would never be as famous and popular as she'd been years ago.

So, she turned to drinking and partying non-stop to put all her troubles behind.

PageSix is now saying that her friends and family have taken her recent DUI bust as a warning sign that action must be taken before she loses complete control.

They want her in rehab and, first of all, they want her to admit she has a problem. As it happens, Amanda doesn't care about either.

Last week, shortly after the arrest and after friends advised her to stay low key for a while, she went clubbing at Chateau Marmont and, later on, at another Hollywood hotspot.

When she emerged, she got into the car, texting while driving, and backed into a curb.

“Amanda’s friends are growing increasingly concerned about her and want her to go to rehab. She has been advised to stay home, but she refused,” one spy says, in light of the star's most recent outing.

“She is not the same girl as she was a year ago. She is just doing whatever she wants to do. Friends are concerned because she is not the Amanda they know,” says another source close to Bynes.

Though she was arrested and charged with DUI, Amanda's father has told the press that his daughter does not have a drinking problem and, most importantly, was not intoxicated when she was pulled over, but “emotional.”
