Sherbert can now enjoy some peace and quiet, doesn't have to worry about being set on fire

Here is some very good news for all the folks in the world who care a great deal about doggies: Sherbert, i.e. Amanda Bynes' pooch, has been adopted by a friend of the actress' family.

Sherbert and Amanda parted ways this past summer, when the actress was placed on psychiatric hold and began treatment for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

TMZ tells us that, as confused about all the other stuff in her life as Amanda Bynes might be, there is one thing the actress is darn sure about: that she loves and adores Sherbert. Hence, she many times asked to see it while undergoing psychiatric treatment.

True, there was that one time when she accidentally poured some gasoline on Sherbert and nearly burned him alive, but this does not mean that they should be kept apart, Amanda seems to think.

Luckily for the pooch, her parents don't see things quite this way, and have decided to let Sherbert live with one of their family friends.

One can only assume that the dog can now finally enjoy some peace of mind, and go for walkies without having to worry about what his human will get him into next.
