14 DAY TRIAL // Amanda Bynes’ recent odd behavior and many brush-offs with the law can be explained by an alcohol abuse problem. She is drinking heavily and is in desperate need of professional help, her own uncle admits in a new interview.
Even though both Amanda and her father have denied she has any kind of abuse problem, her uncle tells Celebuzz that they’re choosing to ignore the truth that’s staring them in the face.
On the one hand, Amanda is deluding herself in saying she’s ok. On the other, chances are her parents don’t even know what she’s been going through.
“She needs to stop drinking and driving. She needs help,” her uncle, Ronald Bynes, says for the aforementioned celebrity e-zine.
His brother, Amanda’s father, is oblivious to the truth, Ronald insists.
“[Her father] doesn’t want to talk about her and often changes the subject. The problem is there’s no correspondence [between Amanda and her parents]. I don’t even think they know what’s going on with her,” he says.
“They’re very upset about her recent problems, but they’re in the dark,” the star’s uncle adds.
He’s not the only one to speak out on the Amanda situation. As we also reported a short while ago, Lindsay Lohan, no stranger to legal issues of the kind Amanda is facing right now, took to Twitter to put her on blast.
As Lohan sees it, Amanda shouldn’t still be out driving but behind bars. Moreover, Lindsay thinks it’s unfair that she was sent to jail, while Amanda continues to enjoy her freedom.
After being involved in several hit and runs and one DUI, Amanda has had her driver’s license suspended, but that did not keep her off the roads.
The other day, officers caught her driving again and had her car impounded. She is due in court in a few days’ time but, for the time being, remains silent on all allegations of alcohol or drug abuse.
