Despite reports saying that Amanda Bynes would be held against her will at a California mental institution for at least another month and a maximum of one year, after being lured here and put on a 5150 involuntary hold following another breakdown, she is already out.

The retired actress who, for a while there, tried to make a career as a fashion designer, was diagnosed last year with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and as soon as her parents’ conservatorship over her ended in September, she stopped taking her meds and went on a rampage.

It all ended earlier this month, when her parents tricked her into flying from NYC to LA, and got her admitted again.

Under conservatorship again, but still out of control

The other day, a judge ruled that Amanda was still a danger to herself and others, and that she was in no position to take care of herself, so her parents were named her conservators again. This means that every decision from now on, both professional and personal, will be made by them – Amanda no longer has any say in it.

The conservatorship seemed to confirm earlier reports that she would be kept at the institution for a while longer because she was still “not well.” Besides not taking her medication, Amanda also consumed alcohol and smoked pot during her time in NYC and this seemed to make her even worse.

TMZ is now reporting (and they have photos to prove it) that Amanda is out and about. In fact, just last night, she was seen on Sunset Strip on her own. She had dinner alone and spent a considerable amount of time trying to book a room at a hotel, but her efforts weren’t successful because, apparently, no one wants her around. She’s simply too much trouble.

Amanda is “seriously mentally ill” but “lucid”

Insiders claim that Amanda was let go because she presented herself to doctors and asked to be discharged. Though “seriously mentally ill,” she sounded “lucid” because she had been taking her medication, so doctors couldn’t keep her any longer against her will.

That may very well be the case, but with Amanda out on the town on her own, there’s no guarantee that she will continue with the treatment. If she doesn’t, her fans and parents will be in for another heartbreaking public meltdown, her third in just 2 years.

TMZ notes that Amanda seemed calm on her first outing, even though she ordered and ate a suspiciously large amount of food. She also spoke to the waiter and intimated that “she was shy because she had a procedure done to her face which required a bandage.” However, when not speaking to the waiter, Amanda would talk loudly to herself.

No word on the parents yet

With Amanda’s serious problems and especially the new conservatorship in place, no one knows where her parents are right now, and how come she managed to slip away from them like that.

Before she was admitted at the institution, Amanda went on Twitter to claim that her father had abused her for years, both physically and verbally, and that her mother knew all along but never did anything about it.

Her parents denied the allegations so, even working under the assumption that they’re not true, they still betray how Amanda really feels about them. First of all, she considers them guilty for “locking her up” the first time and making her look as if she was “insane” when there was really nothing the matter with her.

Her first 5150 hold was prompted by her ill-advised attempt to set fire to a woman’s driveway, nearly killing her own dog (Amanda’s) and burning the pants off herself in the process.
