Retired actress Amanda Bynes is in a mental institution for the second time in as many years, after she was secretly duped by her parents to fly from New York to Los Angeles, where she was admitted into a Pasadena facility against her will.

She was placed on an involuntary hold pending psychiatric evaluation, with the order extended from the minimum 72 hours to the maximum 14 days. The goal of this move is to allow her parents enough time to ask for a new conservatorship to be instated, with them as conservators over Amanda’s personal and business life.

Meanwhile, she’s very furious at what just happened to her.

Amanda Bynes was tricked into going in the mental facility

Before she was committed, Amanda was in New York, where she’d flown precisely because she wanted to be free of her parents. She had been living with them in LA until the first conservatorship ended, which was also the result of a stint in a mental facility and a rehab center.

In the early hours of Friday morning, Amanda took to Twitter to accuse her father of having molested her as a child, abusing her physically and emotionally. She also stated that her mother had known of it all along, but never once moved a finger to help her daughter out.

Word of the shocking claims got back to her parents, who apparently rushed to NYC to try and convince her to seek help for her issues. During her previous hospitalization, Amanda was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and there were clear indications she was no longer taking her medication, while abusing drugs and alcohol.

On the other hand, Amanda booked a flight back to LA, hoping to escape her parents – and meet with an attorney to sue them for the alleged abuse, which, we should note, she retracted in a new statement on social media.

She trusted Sam Lutfi, the same guy who was reportedly behind Britney Spears’ meltdown and who kept supplying her with drugs and calling the paparazzi on her whenever she was out on the town.

This time, Lufti worked with Amanda’s parents, helping them set up this trap. So, when she assumed she was being driven from LAX to an attorney’s office in Pasadena, she was actually being taken to the facility she’s currently being held at, TMZ reports.

Relationship with parents is “destroyed forever”

This is how Amanda is feeling right now, inside sources reveal for the celebrity publication. She hates them for tricking her and for having her restrained and committed again, and she hates them for the way they ruined her life – because that’s what she thinks is happening.

“Amanda feels utterly betrayed. Although she's had a poor relationship with her dad, she had warm feelings for her mom... until Friday,” the report notes, adding that Amanda has been having “fits of anger” since she was hospitalized.

She’s been receiving medication for them and also for her condition, but sources close to the situation believe her biggest problem could be the way she relates to her parents. Seeing how they will most certainly be granted conservatorship over her again, her recovery could be at risk because she doesn’t trust them, and more importantly, because she has these negative feelings towards them.
