Actress Amanda Bynes was popped on suspicion of DUI over the weekend, but her father insists she never drinks and, as such, couldn't have been drunk at the time of the arrest. The two videos below paint a different story, though.
As we also reported at the time, Bynes was reportedly drunk when she was cited, after she scraped a police car when she tried to pass it.
Her father, Rick Bynes, believes that she was just “emotional,” stressing that the media usually picks on his daughter because she's such a good girl when, in reality, she never touches alcohol.
TMZ claims differently: it has at least two videos of Amanda leaving clubs in various stages of intoxication.
You can see them below.
In the first one, Amanda needs two friends to help her to the waiting car. In the second, the paparazzo shooting it repeatedly tells the valet he shouldn't let the young actress behind the wheel in her state.
“TMZ knows Bynes has been frequenting the Hollywood club scene recently... and on March 22, she appeared so wasted on her way out of Greystone Manor in West Hollywood, she needed TWO FRIENDS to hold her upright so she could get to her car,” the celebrity e-zine says.
“On March 17, a seemingly inebriated Amanda didn't play it safe at all. We got video of the actress stumbling out of Greystone Manor, then getting behind the wheel of her car and driving away, despite pleas from our photog to let a sober person drive,” the same media outlet notes.
Rick Bynes is not buying that: in a statement to People magazine the other day, he insisted his daughter was a “good girl” who never drank, let alone get behind the wheel wasted.
Amanda was “emotional” when she was pulled over, which might account for why she appeared intoxicated.
If there's a reason we're having the driving under the influence conversation right now, it's because the tabloids are making stuff up about Amanda, Mr. Bynes also said.
