14 DAY TRIAL // George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin, now Clooney, have been married for less than a year, but they’ve already landed several tabloid covers promising their imminent divorce. This week’s issue of Star Magazine is the latest to do so.
Citing the usual unnamed and allegedly reliable sources, the tab reports (quotes via CB) that Amal and George don’t have a prenup, even though he had planned to sign one before tying the knot in September. However, she refused and he wouldn’t push the matter because he was “desperate” to marry her.
This puts him in quite a hypothetical pickle, because she doesn’t love him and is only in it for the money.
No prenup, plenty of worries
According to the report, George fell in love with Amal shortly after meeting her: for a man who swore he’d never marry again because he’d had his fill, and who went through his girlfriends as he would change socks, this was unexpected. And big.
Weeks within their courtship, George knew that Amal was his “The One” and he had already decided not to spare any expense or effort towards getting her hand in marriage.
When he proposed, he assumed they would sign a prenup, not necessarily because he didn’t trust her but because this is what a man worth about $180 million (€165 million) is expected to do. He had one drawn up, but Amal refused to sign it.
Because he was so in love with her and so happy that she’d agreed to marry him, George didn’t want to rock the boat, so he dropped the prenup talk. His friends are now worried that Amal, what with her insane spending rate, will ruin him. If she doesn’t now, she will do so when the divorce comes.
Amal doesn’t love George
And come it will, the tab claims: George loves Amal more than anything in the world, but the feeling is not mutual.
“He fell in love right away and for him that’s a big deal. But their relationship was very one-sided. Amal was so cautious about committing, he practically had to beg her to marry him!” one of those so-called friends tells the publication.
Since they tied the knot, Amal has been spending George’s money like there’s no tomorrow, buying designer clothes and real estate at a scary pace. Right now, she spends about $2 million (€1.83 million) a month (!!!), the insider says. She even got him to buy a luxury mansion for her parents.
However, money was never an issue for the Hollywood star, which is why he pays no mind to it. Friends worry more about what will happen to him when he finally realizes that Amal is in it only for the fame and the money, not because she has any real feeling towards him.
