14 DAY TRIAL // A few weeks ago, when George Clooney and his wife-to-be Amal Alamuddin spent a couple of days at his Italian villa on Lake Como, a series of photos emerged that showed the British lawyer in what seemed to be the early stages of pregnancy.
Amal was photographed wearing a loose long dress, and she seemed to be sporting the tiniest baby bump. This led the tabloids to go into overdrive and assume that her pregnancy was the reason George was rushing the wedding.
Amal's representative has denied the rumor and has told Us Weekly that the lawyer “is not pregnant.” This doesn't change anything as far as the plans for the wedding are concerned. The wedding is still on for September, somewhere in Italy, presumably Venice.
The reason for that is that George Clooney chose not to inconvenience his neighbors in the small community on Lake Como with the hassle of international media and paparazzi and decided to hold the festivities elsewhere. The couple was seen scouting a location in Venice, eyeing a medieval castle that could hold all of their guests.
The couple announced their engagement in April, and since then, the media has been nitpicking, trying to find a reason for the two to separate. From prenuptial agreement, to his drinking problem, and planning the wedding, there's been a lot of talk that these two aren't going to make it down the altar.
However, people close to the couple beg to differ. “This is the healthiest relationship I've ever seen George in,” said one insider, adding that “He seems incredibly happy, and Amal is such a sweet and intelligent girl, who has her own thoughts and ideas and doesn't just bow down to everything he says.”
The wedding is planned as a big affair, and naturally, it has sparked the interest of the media, making it the social event of the year, after the secretive wedding between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in Miraval, France. There is quite a lot of speculation as to who exactly is going to be invited.
President Obama has just confirmed through his representative that he isn't going to make it, which means that several other big political names won't be attending, as a result. The interesting combination to watch out for is the Angelina Jolie – Brad Pitt – Jennifer Aniston love triangle.
Angelina is expected to come because Brad Pitt is George's best man at the wedding. The trouble is that Jennifer was also invited, and it's believed that Angelina, Brad's current wife, and Jennifer, Brad's ex-wife, are going to try and upstage each other and thus draw attention from the bride.
