Actress Alyssa Milano, impressed by the America's Gulf Region's tragedy, decided to fly to Texas to help those in need.

Milano, 33, decided to make time to go in the affected areas to help hand out necessities for the evacuees.

Her "Charmed" co-star Holly Marie Combs says, "She's actually in Houston at the Astrodome, handing out debit cards to people who are in need. It's very important to her to do that kind of stuff with her life. It's important to her happiness."

Milano is not the first actress that visited the affected region. Oprah Winfrey, Macy Gray, Sean Penn and Faith Hill, are among the celebrities who tried to bring hope to the desperate people hit by Katrina.

Alyssa Jayne Milano, born December 19, 1972 in New York City, currently appears in The WB program Charmed.

One of her first acting roles was in the television program "Who's the Boss?" with Tony Danza, Judith Light and Katherine Helmond, a role which she tried to shed by appearing in adult films.

Many actresses do not manage to escape the stigma of such a career turn, but Milano redeemed herself with her success on Melrose Place and especially Charmed.

Alicia is also an accomplished singer and recording artist, though not in her home country of the United States. She has released 5 albums that have all reached sales of over 1 million copies in Japan. She even appeared in the blink-182 video for the song "Josie".

In 1989 her image was used for the character development of Ariel in the Disney movie, "The Little Mermaid".
