Digital photo frames are becoming quite an interesting family of devices for a large number of consumers out there, and this is the reason why an increasingly higher number of manufacturers come up with such items, each of them trying to entice customers either with their advanced features or with their low price tags. And that seems to be the case with Aluratek's latest digital photo frames, namely the 11-inch (28-cm) ADMPF311F and the 15-inch (38-cm) ADMPF315F models, which provide some pretty basic sets of features, but are more affordable than many other comparable products available on the
market.

Thus, Aluratek's new photo frames have been equipped with true color TFT LCD displays capable of displaying digital pictures at a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768. Moreover, both models feature built-in speakers and classic designer wooden frames, as well as a fair amount of built-in flash memory (1 GB for the 11-inch model and 256 MB for the 15-inch model).

As most other digital photo frames out there, Aluratek's devices also incorporate a memory card reader, providing support for most memory card formats such as CF, MS, SD, MMC, and XD. The digital frames can also be hooked up to a host computer via an USB 2.0 interface, which allows users to upload JPEG, MPEG, AVI, MP3, and WMV files into their built-in memory.

The devices provide a rather standard degree of mounting versatility, since both the ADMPF311F and the ADMPF315F can be displayed on a table top with the included stand, or mounted on a wall, while a remote control is included with both units for convenient operation.

Aluratek's digital photo frames also offer some rather standard viewing and control options, including here slideshow mode, the ability to zoom and rotate, as well as the possibility of using the photo frames as MP3 players, which means that users can browse and listen to favorite MP3 music files, with or without accompanying photos or videos. Furthermore, both frames can be programmed to turn on and off at certain times electronically.

"Our new 11-inch and 15-inch Digital Photo Frames will give users effortless access to their digital photos, MP3's and movies, so they can regularly enjoy them as part of their everyday life," said John Wolikow, Aluratek's VP of Sales and Marketing. "Users will especially like the enhanced image quality they get with the larger viewing frames and the built-in flash capacity on both units."

The new Aluratek 11 incher has a MSRP of around 200 US dollars, while the larger, 15-inch model, will sell for around 300 US dollars. While these price tags make them quite accessible for most users out there, the fact that they lack advanced wireless connectivity options (namely, Wi-Fi) will certainly be a drawback, if we take into consideration the current market trends.
