Altec Lansing's expertise is the field of laptop and PC speakers is unquestionable, and now, the company has just added a couple of new such systems to its lineup, namely the VS2720 and VS2721 models, both designed to accompany notebook and desktop PCs, but also MP3 players.

The VS2720 model is a full-spectrum sound system that enables a 2.0 audio experience, featuring two 3-inch full range drivers combined with dual 3-inch passive radiators.

According to Altec Lansing, the system delivers quite an impressive punch in terms of bass, plus good-quality audio across the entire spectrum of available frequencies, as well as a built-in volume, power and tone controls and an AUX in Jack for easy connection to portable DVD, MP3 or CD players..

Plus, the speakers in the system are magnetically shielded, meaning that they can be placed next to monitors without interference.

Next in line comes the VS2721, sporting two 2-inch speakers accompanied by a 4-inch subwoofer and a wired remote control.

The company reveals that the satellite - subwoofer combo helps the system reach an audio sound pressure level of 93dB, while the two 2-inch full-range speakers help it attain frequencies of up to 20 kHz.

The subwoofer, on the other hand, delivers 28 watts of power, while its side-firing system enables it to deliver enhanced surround effects.

Apart from their specific features, the two new speaker systems from Altec Lansing also deliver a host of common features, one of the most important being Audio Alignment, a building technology ensuring that drivers, enclosure and electronics are balanced for optimum sound.

Pricing for the VS2720 Speaker System from Altec Lansing has been set at around 35 pounds sterling (55 US dollars), while the VS2721 is a bit more expensive, as it's rated at around 60 Euro (or 81 US dollars).
