On November 8, Natanael Copa has announced the immediate availability for download of the Alpine Linux 2.7.0 operating system for servers.

Alpine Linux 2.7.0 is a major release that includes some of the latest Linux technologies, as well as the newly released OpenSSH 6.4 software, a SSH protocol suite of network connectivity tools.

Being powered by Linux kernel 3.10.18, this stable release of Alpine Linux also includes the following updated packages: Xen 4.3.1, PHP 5.5.5, QEMU 1.6.1, PostgreSQL 9.3.1, Samba 4.1.0, NSD 4.0.0, Asterisk 11.6.0, Lua 5.2.2, and Bluez 5.7.

Moreover, the following desktop application have been added to Alpine Linux 2.7.0: Mozilla Firefox 25.0, Abiword 3.0.0, Gnumeric 1.12.8, Evince 3.10, and Virt-Manager 0.10.0.
