Jeff Bilyk announced last evening, January 4th, the immediate availability for download of the third point release of the Alpine Linux 2.3 operating system.

Alpine Linux 2.3.3 is powered by Linux kernel 3.0.14, containing a patch that resolves OpenNHRP and MTU issues reported in previous releases.

OpenNHRP was also updated to version 0.13, as well as Shoreline Firewall (Shorewall), offering support for multi-ISP configurations and restart issues with Pingu.

Last but not least, unbound DNS resolver can now update the root server from a periodic script in Alpine 2.3.3.

Alpine Linux is a community-developed operating system designed for x86 Routers, Firewalls, VPNs, VoIP and servers. You can view the full changelog for this release on the Alpine git log and the bug tracker.
