If you’re a fan of horror movies, you must know that some of the best releases of the genre have neither a huge budget nor a stellar cast. “Almost Human” checks on both counts and, according to the new trailer, it might just be the thing to get your heart racing.

The trailer is above but *please note that discretion is recommended when viewing it because of images of violence that might offend.

“Mark Fisher disappeared from his home in a brilliant flash of blue light almost two years ago. His friend Seth Hampton was the last to see him alive. Now a string of grisly, violent murders leads Seth to believe that Mark is back, and something evil is living inside of him,” reads a brief synopsis of the film.

The trailer leaves no room for doubt as to Mark’s newly acquired evilness.

“Almost Human” stars Graham Skipper, Vanessa Leigh and Josh Ethier, is directed by Joe Begos, and will open at TIFF 2013 this weekend.
