After Nintendo and Sony both presented their Black Friday sales figures, it’s time for Microsoft to once again blow them out of the water, as the company confirmed that around 960,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold during the week of Black Friday, and more than 800,000 units on that actual day.

The Xbox 360 has been experiencing a huge amount of popularity in the last year or so, managing to consistently trump its rivals in terms of sales across the U.S. Seeing as how the console was featured in probably any Black Friday deal ran by American retailers, many expected this sales momentum to continue.

Now, however, Microsoft has confirmed that the last week was the biggest in terms of sales in the history of its Xbox business.

More than 960,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold, while more than 750,000 Kinect sensors were snatched up by eager gamers, both as part of bundles and as standalone items, according to Microsoft’s internal data.

The company is also expecting some large sales this winter holiday season, so the future is still looking bright for the Xbox 360.
