The latest Android 4.4.1 has barely made it out for the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 slates, and Allwinner Technology has already announced it will be offering the newest build for its A31/A31s tablet models too.

This is pretty amazing, considering that most Android budget products on the market are running Android 4.2, with a small proportion offering Android 4.3. But it appears some manufacturers are willing to by-pass a few stages and go directly to Android 4.4.1 instead, given the fast pace at which Google rolls out new OS builds.

Allwinner has done it and thus will supposedly become the first company in the world to offer Android 4.4.1 firmware to quad-core tablets, says Crossmap. The new build is said to provide improved camera functions, but so far, that has been confirmed only in the Nexus 5.

Even if this is exciting news, you should know A31/A31s-based tablet models aren't easy to come by outside of China, but customers can try looking for some models on Amazon or eBay out of curiosity.
