14 DAY TRIAL // Romanian handset manufacturer Allview, specialized in producing and distributing dual-SIM mobile phones, has recently announced its new touchscreen dual-SIM mobile phone, the F2 Crony
The feature-phone will be available on the market in April, but no price tag has been revealed yet.
It comes with a medium size 3-inch touchscreen and measures 107 x 53 x 12.5 mm. It does EDGE and GPRS, but lacks 3G connectivity and it is unclear if it features Wi-Fi.
The multimedia package of the device includes a 3.2-megapixel photo camera with flash, a media player application that plays both audio and videos files, FM radio and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support, which enables users to listen to the music wirelessly.
According to the manufacturer, the device is aimed at young people for its low price and original menu but also for the shape and colors.
Allview F2 Crony has a proprietary virtual interface with three screens on board which can be customized with widgets. Additionally, the interface has an interactive menu bar to access the major functions of the phone.
It seems that the phone comes with two available keyboards, a standard QWERTY and a classic keypad that can be activated when needed. Apparently, the manufacturer also included the copy / paste function for links, sentences and words which can be inserted in other texts.
In terms of software, the Crony F2 is stuffed with some of the best applications that run on Java compatible phones, such as the Bolt browser.
As social networking integration is vital for the target of the handset, Allview F2 Crony is delivered with Snaptu, which enables quick access to apps and services such as Facebook and Twitter, Weather, Google Calendar, Flickr, Picasa, News, Sports, Games and Google Search.
With the eBuddy application, users will be able to connect to a wide range of instant messaging networks such as Yahoo, MSN, AIM and Google Talk.
Furthermore, Allview's F2 Crony provides users with direct access to the manufacturer's apps store where they can download free games and hundreds of software titles.
The device comes with a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB) and is powered by a 900mAh battery which provides a standby time of up to 180 hours or a talk time of up to 4 hours.
