The e-mail service Alltel has just released aims at offering its subscribers all those very popular and appreciated applications Alltel has not been able to provide until now. The service should be available for all of the operator's handsets and for Windows Mobile operated phones as well.

Coming in the form of an Internet download, the service offers smartphone users various e-mail possibilities, such as AOL, Hotmail, or Yahoo! Mail. Moreover, it is very easily manageable, allowing subscribers to sync their work calendars or contacts without any outside support. On top of that, after the first online connection is made between the phone and the application in question, running the system will be much smoother.

David Maddox, Vice President of product marketing for Alltel Wireless, stated concerning the new service released that “Customers rely on e-mail as a way to stay in touch with friends, family and business associates[...] Our customers want their devices to do so much more than just make calls. With Alltel Mobile E-mail, customers can send and reply to e-mail and manage their address book in a simple and seamless way”.

Besides being compatible with Microsoft's Outlook Web Access program, Alltel has added an innovative application for firms. Using Workgroup Connector, the e-mail mobile service has been designed so that a PC can manage up to 25 different subscribers’ email services at once.

Analyzing Alltel's mobile line up, the devices on which the service will be included are the New HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch Diamond, HTC PPC 6800, HTC Touch, a couple of Motorola phones and some Palm phones. Also, in order to attract a wider spectrum of customers, other very appreciated mobiles have been added to the list, namely the Samsung Delve, LG Scoop, Samsung Hue, MotoK1m and the MotoRAZR V3a.
