Allison Iraheta is “American’s Idol fierce rockera,” Latina magazine says in the May 2010 issue of the AI alum with pink hair and a truly memorable voice. The mag includes not only an interview with the 17-year-old singer but also quotes and full-page portraits of all 4 finalists of last seasons, including Adam Lambert, who says he’s extremely supporting of Allison’s career.

The runner-up, who has since become the hottest pop star of the moment, with sales for his debut album “For Your Entertainment” placing it as the second best selling album of last year, says Allison remains like a little sister to him. So her debut album did not fare as expected but that’s not to say he doesn’t have confidence that she will make it, especially with a voice as impressive as hers.

“It’s going to take some time, but she’ll get there. Allison’s still like my little sister, even though we don’t get to see each other as much,” Adam says for Latina. To this, Allison replies, “My mom loves Adam, but I don’t know. That’s gonna be a tough one to sell.” Either way, even if she doesn’t move in with Adam, Allison is happy he’s so supportive of her, especially since she’s so determined to have her music career get off the ground and people know her as a singer on her own, and not just the “American Idol chick.”

“A lot of people still don’t know who I am until I say, ‘Soy de American Idol.’ That’s when everyone starts snapping their cameras. […] I don’t want people to see me and immediately think, ‘Oh, that’s the girl with the red hair who was on American Idol,’ I want them to say, ‘That’s Allison Iraheta. She’s a great artist who makes real music and has something to say – and she rocks’,” Allison explains.

In the meantime, she will have her chance to prove people just what she’s capable of: Allison Iraheta has been confirmed as the opening act for Adam Lambert’s upcoming tour, the Glam Nation Tour. This speaks volumes of how supportive Adam really is.
