On June 26, Allgress, a company that provides business risk intelligence services, has made available the Business Risk Intelligence (BRI) 4.0, a solution designed to help professionals when it comes to assessing the security risks their organizations are facing.

BRI provides comprehensive reports and visual heat maps that can be of aid not only to security staffers, but also to a firm’s managers who need precise figures when it comes to risks.

There are already a number of important companies that rely on the services offered by Allgress, including Electronic Arts (EA), eBay, BBVA Bancomer and Early Warning Systems.

Dave Cullinane, the former CISO of eBay explained that Allgress’s solutions were of great help while he worked for the online shopping website.

“CISOs are struggling to manage risk and to communicate the impact it can have on business. Until they deploy solutions that give them immediate insight into where security gaps are, they are going to continue be plagued by incidents, be left out of the business decision-making process, and fail to gain the resources needed to effectively manage risk,” Cullinane said.

“At eBay, Allgress allowed us to gain an organization-wide view into our overall security posture, which enhanced our ability to reduce risk and helped us to convince the company's top decision-makers that security is a critical priority.”

Those from the IT Security industry also seem to agree that such solutions are a necessity.

“The evidence from Aberdeen's research is that enterprise risk management technologies are in fact invaluable business tools, which leading companies are increasingly using to help manage successfully in the face of uncertainty and risk” said Derek Brink, VP of Aberdeen Group.

Companies can use the Vulnerability Management, Risk Analysis, Security and Compliance Assessment, Incident Management, and the Policy and Procedures modules as an integrated solution or separately, depending on their needs.

Allgress representatives believe that their services are far better than traditional solutions because they enhance the communication channels between staff and decision makers, and allow security professionals to find out more about the impact of their decisions.

“Allgress is recognized by Gartner as a Cool Vendor and is at work within 50 of the world's leading enterprises, including known brands such as Early Warning Systems, eBay, Electronic Arts and,” revealed Jeff Bennett, founder and COO of Allgress.

“Within each of these organizations, we are empowering CISOs, providing them with the information they need to get the resources required to effectively manage security risk. Our team is proud to unveil our BRI solution to the world; we know it will continue to provide proven benefits that allow security and risk professionals to do their jobs and accomplish their goals.”
