Allen & Heath has released a new firmware package targeted at its GLD digital mixer series, namely version 1.41 compatible with the GLD-80 and GLD-112 systems, which includes a few changes that improve the units’ overall performance and usability.

This new firmware version enahnces the Transient Controller, adds a full Korean language pack and a Spanish Help pack, and resolves an issue where the GLD device could become unusable due to the event log file management.

In addition to that, the new socket numbering format is now displayed even when inserting pages, and currently selected Embedded Recall units will not be modified when users remove a networked device.

When it comes to applying this release, simply get and extract the downloadable archive, format a USB drive, and copy the newly-created “AllenHeathGLD” folder onto the root directory of the USB stick.

Now, safely remove the memory drive from the computer, plug it into one of the GLD’s USB ports, and go to Setup → Utility → Firmware → Update from the mixer’s setup menu. At this point, the unit will search for a new firmware and, if found, initiate the upgrade process.

Bear in mind that interrupting the installation, removing the USB drive, or powering off the device will result into an update failure that can seriously damage the mixer; wait for the process to complete and, when done, simply tap the “Reboot” option.

That being said, download Allen & Heath GLD Digital Mixer Firmware 1.41, apply it on your mixer, and constantly check with our website to be up to date with the latest releases.
