Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has been long rumored to plan on making a new flagship handset official before the end of this year, in the form of Sony Xperia Z3, and allegedly leaked photos with the phone are now available for your viewing pleasure.

Said images have emerged online courtesy of Digi-wo and Weibo, and show us the Chinese version of the smartphone, which sports model number L55t.

With the Sony Xperia Z2 released earlier this year in China with model number L50t attached to it, it’s clear that the newly leaked device is none other than its successor.

The mobile phone has been already confirmed to go official before the end of this year, and is expected to arrive at the IFA 2014 trade fair in Berlin this September, yet no specific info on what it will look like has been provided until now.

The aforementioned leaked images with it, however, provide us with a full view of its outer design, while also confirming some of the specs previously rumored for the phone.

Thus, we know that Sony Xperia Z3 will arrive in China with the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top right from the start, and that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor.

As XperiaBlog points out, this is a MSM8974-AC chipset that features four cores clocked at 2.5GHz each, and which also includes Adreno 330 graphics.

On top of that, the leaked images show that the upcoming device will sport a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, the same as the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2 did before it.

The Xperia Z3 is also expected to have the speaker moved to the left side, and there is also a chance that it won’t sport the same stereo speaker setup as the Xperia Z2, at least this is what the leaked images suggest.

MicroSD, microSIM and microUSB ports are also visible on the mobile phone, along with a dedicated camera button, and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top.

One other thing that should be noted about the upcoming device is the fact that it will arrive on shelves with curved edges, which should make it a bit more comfortable to hold when compared to its predecessors.

All in all, the Sony Xperia Z3 is shaping up as a highly appealing device, though keep in mind that no official confirmation on its capabilities has been provided as of now. However, more on it will certainly emerge in the not-too-distant future, so stay tuned.
