The Boy Genius Report is again responsible for fresh iTunes 9 rumors, this time based on imagery leaked by a German blogger who claims to have stumbled upon a bunch of iTunes 9 screenshots while browsing on a “Chinese Apple forum.”

“A German blogger claims to have dug up a hand full of iTunes 9 screenshots while sifting through a Chinese Apple forum,” the post reads. “Should these screenshots be authentic,” BGR continues to report, “they definitely firm up several of the items we listed including Last.fm integration and some kind of integration with Facebook and Twitter...”

iTunes 9 has definitely been a hot topic lately, especially with word of Blu-ray support making its way into the software. Earlier this week, BGR cited a more reliable source as saying that the yet-unreleased iTunes 9 would pack support for Blu-ray playback. ”We’ve just received a tip from a pretty reliable source that detailed for us some of iTunes 9’s upcoming features and they’re pretty exciting,” reads the report in question. “One of the new additions to iTunes is said to include Blu-ray support which lines up nicely with a recent Apple Insider report about Apple integrating Blu-ray into their new iMac line-up.” The new version of iTunes is also said to allow users to visually organize and arrange their iPhone and iPod touch applications, while the announcement could hit as soon as next month (at Apple’s annual iPod event).

These rumors have spawned additional speculation that Apple now has enough reason to combine the Mac mini and its Apple TV into a more complete media center unit. The device would be equipped with Blu-ray-playing hardware and DVR functionality, according to one analysis.

Screenshots of the alleged iTunes 9 are available below (via BGR). You be the judge here: fake or real?
