The two devices will probably make a debut next month

Before CES 2015, we were anticipating to see Sony unveil its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z4 on the grounds at the event.

Disappointingly, it didn't happen, but we did find out that Sony showed the device to American carrier representatives in a secret room at CES 2015, which not many had access to.

Well, since the flagship didn't go live for the masses at CES, we can only presume the handset will be unveiled at MWC 2015 in Barcelona next month.

The phone is expected to arrive in two versions, one with a Quad HD display and one with 1080p panel. Apart from the Xperia Z4, there has been talk of the Xperia Z4 Tablet as well, but the device hasn't been all that present in the rumor mill as the handset.

Anyway, a picture allegedly showcasing the two upcoming devices has leaked online, courtesy of Phone Arena.

We can’t be 100% sure this is the real deal, but the two products do look distinct from the current Sony flagship phone and tablet.

What is also noticeable is that the two devices seem to be included in the PR campaign from the Hobbit’s last movie the trilogy, A Battle of Five Armies.

If this is not clear enough for you, zoom in and check out the fun Hobbit-inspired theme on the navigation buttons.

What’s a little bit odd is that the Xperia Z4 smartphone was said to be featured in James Bond’s latest flick, but here we are seeing it as part of The Hobbit’s promotional campaign.

Anyway, the two flagships are expected to arrive with a powerful spec list. The tablet should boast QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) instead of the FHD offered by the previous model.

Both top-tier models will take advantage of the Snapdragon 810 chip platform fitted with 4GB of RAM and will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

Hopefully, we’ll know more details soon.
