Now that the launch of the first GF106-based products is approaching, the Internet has finally started to spot rumors regarding them, even though said reports haven't, so far, been able to unveil any particularly long list of supposed specifications. Still, some details have emerged, and a more recent leak, brought to the web's attention by Expreview, even includes a pair of pictures detailing the schematics of the card. Granted, the report does say this may be a model other than the GTS 450, but nothing is clear yet.

From what the schematics show, the GF106 will be square, unlike the GF104 which is rectangular. The existence of what looks like six memory chips is also pointed out, which hints at 768MB of memory instead of 1GB. This is the main flag that suggests this may not be the GTS 450, but some other product slated for release later.

In addition to the implied difference in memory capacity, the leaked pictures show a 3+1 phase power design, a 6-pin power connector, dual-DVI and HDMI outputs and a SLI connector. Unfortunately, the ambiguity regarding the rest of the specs remains the same as before. There is no way of knowing what clock speeds the GPU and memory will come with, nor is the number of CUDA cores actually known. In fact, the only detail that can be seen as even remotely confirmed is the memory bandwidth of 128 bits. Other than that, nothing is certain.

The PCB design drawing, according to Expreview, first showed up on the PCinlife forum. It remains to be seen whether it is genuine or not. Meanwhile, end-users can speculate on the chances that this device will or will not have once it is faced with the ATI Radeon HD 5770 from AMD, whose interface is also of 128 bits.
